CONVENTIONAL SHIPPING

The conventional shipping division was established in May 1993 with its primary activities in the ownership of containerized and general cargo vessels, shipchartering, shipmanagement and ship agency services.

The Group currently has a fleet strength of 13 vessels in which it has ownership interests varying between 50% and 100%. We have obtained the ISO 9002 on 16 December 1997 and ISM certification on 21 November 1997.

As part of our efforts to widen our scope of service to international ship owners,the ship management and ship agency arm of the division undertook a tie up effective from I July 1998, with the ASP Shipmanagement Group which is in the business of providing high quality Shipmanagement on a world wide basis.

Under the tie-up, ASP Ship Management Singapore Pte Ltd has been formed in which the Group retains a 34% equity stake. The associated company has a management team of over twenty knowledgeable and experienced ship managers, port captains; engineering superintends to serve the demanding and varied needs of its principal.
